Wilhelmus<p>Impressed by the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/experimental" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>experimental</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ambient" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ambient</span></a> live performance of composer <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/JGShadid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>JGShadid</span></a> on the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Audiotree" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Audiotree</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/YouTube" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>YouTube</span></a> channel last week, I tried to find his 'The Art of Speaking Softly' album on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Bandcamp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Bandcamp</span></a>, but I couldn't find any result whatsoever.</p><p>Turns out all his previous work was done under another name, namely <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/JoeGeorge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>JoeGeorge</span></a>, which I didn't expect the JG would stand for. His 2nd last album 'Folk Cinema' title describes his genre perfectly: <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/cinematic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cinematic</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/folk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>folk</span></a> music, and is excellent.</p><p><a href="https://joegeorgemusic.bandcamp.com/album/folk-cinema/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">joegeorgemusic.bandcamp.com/al</span><span class="invisible">bum/folk-cinema/</span></a></p>

Wilhelmus<p>This week I discovered <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/AAWilliams" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AAWilliams</span></a> via her <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Audiotree" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Audiotree</span></a> live performance <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/YouTube" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>YouTube</span></a> video.</p><p>She has not released an album recently, which is normally the case when performing on radio stations: promotion of new work. Maybe there is one in the works, I do not know yet. Therefore I picked her last 3 year old album instead.</p><p>The sound of A.A. Williams is somewhere between <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Goth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Goth</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DoomMetal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DoomMetal</span></a> &amp; <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Alternative" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Alternative</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PostRock" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PostRock</span></a> with a dash of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Classical" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Classical</span></a> music: honestly a very nice place to be.<br><a href="https://aawilliams.bandcamp.com/album/as-the-moon-rests/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">aawilliams.bandcamp.com/album/</span><span class="invisible">as-the-moon-rests/</span></a></p>
Wilhelmus<p>I keep bumping into the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Finom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Finom</span></a> music duo: first I saw them on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/audiotree" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>audiotree</span></a> 🌲 a month ago, skipped them for reasons, and then last week on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/newsounds" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>newsounds</span></a> 🔉discovered the excellent violinist <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacieStewart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacieStewart</span></a>, did a little research and turns out Macie Stewart is one half of Finom! 🤯</p><p>So I guess the universe is forcing me to share their <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/alternative" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>alternative</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/indieRock" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>indieRock</span></a> album in order to make it stop. I like the band name, since the venomous "I am fine!" almost always means the exact opposite.😅<br><a href="https://finom.bandcamp.com/album/not-god/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">finom.bandcamp.com/album/not-g</span><span class="invisible">od/</span></a></p>
buffy leigh (she/they)<p>Continuing on the psychedelic vibe, Mong Tong's Audiotree performance was also just released a couple days ago:</p><p><a href="https://audiotree.bandcamp.com/album/mong-tong-on-audiotree-live" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">audiotree.bandcamp.com/album/m</span><span class="invisible">ong-tong-on-audiotree-live</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/MongTong" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MongTong</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/psychedelic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>psychedelic</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/PsychedelicRock" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PsychedelicRock</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/NowPlaying" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NowPlaying</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Audiotree" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Audiotree</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/AudiotreeLive" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AudiotreeLive</span></a></p>
