@anon_opin As a kid, I absolutely could not stand the feeling of the seams against my skin, and 100% always insisted on wearing them seams-out, if barefoot wasn’t an option.

Edit: it occurs to me now that this sensitivity was one of my mild #autism traits.

@actuallyautistic

I have now got a week off work and no I'm not going anywhere. I gave up on that a long time ago and besides, all my stuff's here. And yes, I've written a list for what I want to try and achieve and the rough timetable for it, that's an obvious. But, finally, I can relax and not have to dwell on anything and just enjoy my, me time.

"Er..."

Yes, my Audhd brain.

"You know the reason for taking this particular week off?"

Yes, someone is coming in on Thursday to replace my central heating boiler.

"So, take a wild guess on what I'm going to make you dwell and obsessively think and worry about."

Bugger! Why brain, why?

"It's what I do."

I’m starting to see a major pattern in the “Autistic Advice” arena, meaning places where autistic people educate and help one another.

1. They don’t actually seem to be run by Autistic people and seem to make no accommodation for being autistic…

2. The advice is split between, “mask and never tell them you’re autistic” and “advocate for yourself and get accommodations” without anything in between.

@fulelo I have a family member who has Severe Classic Autism, who groped me when we were both adults. Not because they are a creep, but because they seriously don't understand that that's a wrong social interaction. I pushed them away gently, said no, and they respected my no.

Yes, Autism IS a "free pass" for "bad behavior." People who don't understand that don't really understand Autism and shouldn't be allowed within 500 ft. of any Autistic person.

Flat. Out.

And fuck any "charity" or "organization" who doesn't agree with that. They're obviously doing no good in the Autism community, and are ignorant as hell.

I realized something interesting

my pattern for finding new music

  1. I find a new song I like and listen to it obsessively
  2. I find a second song I like by the same artist and listen to it obsessively
  3. repeat 2 until I can reasonably figure out which of their albums has the highest density of songs I like
  4. listen to that album, start to finish, obsessively
  5. repeat with each album in order of enjoyment density until I know their entire discography by heart
  6. go back to just listening the songs I like

like, I do this every time

Now I’m very angry.
Putting aside the blatant “you can’t blame me for inappropriate sexual behavior at work because disability” nonesense here, there is something more dangerous.
The diagnosis is described as “recent”, and he had the job for about 20 years, but he says he will sue because “TV bosses had failed to ‘investigate my disability’”.
If a court agrees that his bosses did something wrong, then it’s no longer your decision whether you disclose your disability to employers, it’s their responsibility to “investigate” and take action, even in the absence of a diagnosis.
Get ready for: “you look/sound/seem Autistic so as your employer I am required make sure you’re not allowed to work one-to-one with anyone”. Or, you know, “you seem Autistic, so the job will go to anyone else since we’ll be blamed later if something goes wrong”.
I hope they absolutely throw the book at him.
