Good morning you lovely lot I'm up early with the parrots today and am having a lovely wee cuddle session with Ziggy, who scared us all by mad panic flying into a door last night when a delivery man knocked. She was in the kitchen with Grant when the man came up to the door, which has glass panels. Ziggy freaked out and flew to her cage, not realising there was a half closed door in the way, and thud! She luckily put the brakes on and didn't hit it too hard or damage her beak again. Mad panic flying is the constant worry with parrots that are essentially prey animals and programmed to do it, because you just never know what will set them off, but it's still better than wing clipping, which I would never advocate for. She's grumbling away happily next to my neck at the moment preening me, so totally fine thank goodness.

More crazy busy work again today.

Good morning Fellow Travellers around the Sun I'm up early again and enjoying the relative coolness of downstairs after another stifling night of trying to sleep. At one point I just gave up on the fan, which was simply blowing slightly less warm air at me and making a racket to boot, and tried my best just not to melt too badly 'm now sitting having a cuddle with Ziggy, who now has totally normal liver function as indicated by her latest blood results I'm happy to report The vet says it might be best to keep her on the liver meds anyway as they often see a bit of a reversal when birds come off them, but it's up to me. For now I think we'll just keep the status quo.

A big parrot kitchen day for me : fresh chop to make, plus broth mix and parrot hummus. Hopefully no melted Caz by the end of it all

Good morning everyone I'm up early with the parrots this morning after a night if trying to sleep despite the heat. I ended up admiting defeat and putting the fan on. It's nice and cool down here with the parrots at the moment, apart from my hand where a little naked girl is cuddling in and grumbling away contentedly apart from the occasional nip when I tickle her too much. She's like a little hand warmer with attitude

Grant bought me some Ibuprofen yesterday, which is helping to keep the inflammation and accompanying pain under control now, but I still have fingers like sausages that make crochet difficult. We had a girl in high school we called Nicky Finger Sausages - I can't recall why, because I don't think she had fat fingers..funny the things you remember

Right, I'm rambling, so off to make some coffee and try and wake up properly.

Good morning everyone! I am up early with the parrots this morning and Ziggy is in fine form today, greeting me with an enthusiastic "Good Moo!" before I had even lifted her cover, and when I replaced her water bowl, playing the "Whoop!" game in which she yells, "Whoop!", I respond with , "Whoops!" and she says, "What's that?". This can go on for some time and is always followed by her making laughing noises She also took her medication with great gusto, telling me it was "Good!" and making "Mmm" sounds, while Jadie whispered "Have some!" and I had to explain to her again why she couldn't, because it was medicine. Jadie is the only parrot I have had who whispers, and it's very cute.

Dentist this morning then some parrot kitchen and gutting a cupboard to try and find bat ingress points. Crochet thereafter if there is time.
