A #ZeroWaste roll! I made my first experience with a #RepairCafe and it was bombastic! To give justice to this #Bosch food processor, it survived 10 years of intensive use, but I could easily identify #design patterns that made it harder to repair with no obvious benefit. And I learned that a simpleton like me can totally learn how to repair stuff and it’s a lot of fun. Big kudos to the volunteer who stayed overtime to bring this old gizmo back to life. He had worked for Shell his entire life and, once retired, decided to do something for the environment and learn how to fix things to reduce waste.

I was looking forward to trying the new #Bosch PM2.5 sensor (BVM080); it sounded like a real advance over previous sensors. I got it set up today and I'm really not pleased:
- Closed source with a restrictive license makes it a black box that's hard to work with (I knew this in advance)
- Seemed to work for a bit, now just gives all zero readings
- Comes to life randomly to give overly high readings
- Complains if anything is within 20cm of the sensor, yet the sensing area is supposed to be 5mm

What on earth does a dishwasher do for almost 5 hours? This was allegedly the “eco” program. (Apparently, not the program my mother uses, but the “genius” people at Bosch didn’t think to have the machine remember the program it used last.)

Not at all impressed with the Bosch appliances.

Frau hatte ihr Riese & Müller zur Wartung und kann jetzt lt. Tacho 92 km/h fahren.

Angeblich, so die Leute bei #eMotion wären Gänge vom Rohloff-SpeedHub doppelt belegt und man müsste das in der Flow-App/Kiox neu einstellen.

Immerhin: Wartung und Bremsen waren erfolgreich.

Gibt es da draußen jemanden der was weiß?

Ach, und das "Flusensieb" sollte ich doch öfter kontrollieren. Flusen waren nicht drin, aber Steine, ne Schraube, Haarspange und ein 1ct-Stück.

#Bosch speed oven unit is about 10yo. Have already replaced the entire door (broken door spring), fused door switches a few times, control panel once, and now control panel a 2nd time.

Control panel is over $1000 installed.

But still cheaper than a replacement speed oven, if one could be found, and a lot cheaper than buying a whole wall oven combo.

New replacements would be shit as well, so might as well fix the old one.
