xander<p>has anyone else played <a href="https://merveilles.town/tags/cuttle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cuttle</span></a>? </p><p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuttle" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuttle</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>its the closest i've ever seen to magic the gathering with a standard deck. the rounds are fast and fun but they have enough RNG that it feels more fair to have like three rounds of best of three, or something, because otherwise, you don't feel like you actually get a chance to see who is better.</p><p>its interesting to me that the wikipedia entry doesn't specify when or where the game came from, but, via reference - pagat mentions its the "earliest combat card game" - <a href="https://www.pagat.com/combat/cuttle.html" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">pagat.com/combat/cuttle.html</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> - but it doesn't really have references otherwise. i'd be curious to know if some <a href="https://merveilles.town/tags/boardgame" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>boardgame</span></a> or <a href="https://merveilles.town/tags/cardgame" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cardgame</span></a> person wants to enlighten me :)</p><p>i think a lot of merveilles folks would like this game though in general as it reminds me of <a href="https://merveilles.town/tags/donsol" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>donsol</span></a>, but two player, faster and a bit more dynamic and strategic.</p>
