Monday morning #foss #dev rant:

I will never understand why in some many projects, users have to ping/beg/younameit just to get the "maintainers" issue a (maintenance) release.

In this specific case (I am not affected directly) is has been > 2 years and even though there is (even) a reply from a maintainer, not more than a few "maybes" and "ifs" are happening, even though everything is ready in the default branch to just be released.

I see such a pattern happening in so many projects and its so exhausting and sad.
PLEASE either give away maintainership to active people or do your due diligence. Ideally, automate it as much as possible so releasing becomes a task you can do on the side while getting a coffee.
