Joseph Meyer<p>I finally got a new community mailbox after three months of waiting, and got the keys about a week later. The old unit with 16 boxes for 16 homes had fallen over from rusting at the base, which I hypothesize was caused by 40 years of dog urine. All it took to get a new mailbox was many car trips to the post office to pick up my mail as well as two phone calls, two emails, and a completed privacy release form to my U.S. Congressman. I have no idea how many other customers took similar actions to eventually get the boxes replaced. But those collective efforts may have exceeded the work that finally went into replacing the unit. Should I consider this a win by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)? <a href="https://c.im/tags/DOGE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DOGE</span></a></p>
