Eric Kansa<p>I'm looking to volunteer to do some <a href="https://scholar.social/tags/DataRescue" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DataRescue</span></a> . I have some <a href="https://scholar.social/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a> proficiencies and experience with this during Trump 1.0, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine (<a href="https://scholar.social/tags/SUCHO" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SUCHO</span></a>). </p><p>But are there any <a href="https://scholar.social/tags/digitalrepositories" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>digitalrepositories</span></a> organizing anything right now? This needs to be a collective effort.</p>

Eric Kansa<p>Reading up on the "CoreTrust" seal for <a href="https://scholar.social/tags/digitalrepositories" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>digitalrepositories</span></a>. </p><p><a href="https://www.coretrustseal.org/apply/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">coretrustseal.org/apply/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>While I appreciate the goals, I'm trying to understand how much it makes sense for Open Context (we're not a preservation repository, we're a publisher that puts data into other repositories). Afterall, 3000 EU is not a trivial sum of money. </p><p>Also, there's this thoughtful paper that seems pretty skeptical: <a href="https://arxiv.org/pdf/2310.06712v1" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">arxiv.org/pdf/2310.06712v1</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
