I actually replicate the pattern until the border is filled vertically.
Tape loading still doesn't work well for 128k games, which in turn prevents me from hearing much music, which prevents me from improving AY-3-8912 audio playback. I will probably resort to transcribing some music to PLAY commands myself, and trying the old synthesis commands. I can work the fine detail of tape loading at a later time.

The excellent Linux Vendor Firmware Service project by @hughsie - LVFS, but which you might know through its tooling fwup and fwupdmgr - has published a "sustainability plan".
This basically asks larger hardware vendors to contribute engineering resource (people) or money, to help sustain it.
I rely on this superb project, as an amazingly convenient way of doing firmware updates to my ThinkPad using Linux.

You're both quite right. I agree. As I see it when it comes to FOSS sustainability (which imho is inherently unsustainable atm) we are dealing with a wicked problem, which can only be solved by a multi-pronged solution. For some projects this might be beneficial, while others be better off with a different mix of sustainability tools-in-the-toolbox.
As you may know I focus on #SOSS now, as a model. Sustainable open social systems, having #FOSS as output.
