There has been an interesting emergence of design research exploring the role computers can play in religious/spiritual experiences. One such group is the The SPIRITED Collective, which recently issued a second issue of a zine that includes some explorations my colleague Noura Howell and I have been doing on machine-aided autobiographic poetry inspired by the style of the great Sufi mystic and poet Rūmī and his Masnavi.
