Michael :donor:Looks like the open-source application firewall Portmaster has been acquired by the VPN provider IVPN.I have tried out Portmaster in the past, it worked quite well. It is GPL licensed and will hopefully stay that way. But in my experience, an acquisition of a widely used open-source tool usually leads to a non-foss license change down the line, let's hope that doesn't happen here... there are no indicators of that happening other than my own cynicism. But my cynicism has been well-fed over the last years by corporations acquiring and enshittifying previously open-source projects.
