This is the Plytenberg in <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/Leer?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Leer</a>. Its total height is an unspeakable 9.00 metres and it reaches its greatest height at 12.56 metres. Amazing, isn't it?<br>
<br>
Some believe it was a pagan sacrificial site, others see it as an ancient tomb. However, popular legend has it that it dates back to the time when giants still existed. And this is the story:<br>
<br>
Two giantesses once amused themselves on the islands of Baltrum and Juist. They enjoyed the glistening sand in the dunes and packed as much of it as they could hold into their aprons. Then they walked across the mudflats to Emden and walked along the Ems, each on a bank so that the river was between them. But the heavy sand tore their aprons apart and seeped through the holes, and so they each scattered a whole strip along the Ems. This is how the dykes were created.<br>
<br>
When they saw Leer, one giantess leapt over to the other in a single bound. Her apron string broke and all the sand fell in a heap. And so the Plytenberg was formed 😊<br>

Me gusta salir con la <a href="https://masto.es/tags/bici" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bici</span></a> (aspiro a recorrer más de 2000km este año y consolidarlo como método de transporte habitual), <a href="https://masto.es/tags/leer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>leer</span></a> (sobretodo ensayos) y <a href="https://masto.es/tags/escribir" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>escribir</span></a>, aunque es cierto que he perdido el hábito que tanto ansio recuperar, vivir la música, y de forma base, <a href="https://masto.es/tags/aprender" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>aprender</span></a> y <a href="https://masto.es/tags/compartir" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>compartir</span></a> mis conocimientos con el mundo. </p><p>He crecido con la tecnología moderna, desde los 6 años criándome con <a href="https://masto.es/tags/Windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Windows</span></a>, aunque viviendo a tiempo completo con <a href="https://masto.es/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> desde los 16 años. Paradójicamente, Google despertó mi interés por la <a href="https://masto.es/tags/privacidad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>privacidad</span></a> digital, lo que inesperadamente me llevó a superar una adicción a las redes sociales virales, a explorar espacios virtuales más seguros y éticos como Mastodon y a someterme a un proceso de reflexión total sobre mi relación con la tecnología.</p>

Volumen II», de AAVV 📚</p><p>Como comenté en su momento, esta antología de Ciencia Ficción me la regalaron en la Gigamesh por Sant Jordi del año pasado. Recoge un total de cinco relatos, todos del año 2018 (el mismo año de la muerte de Ursula K. Le Guin como se encarga de recordarnos el editor en el prólogo), seleccionados como lo más destacado en ciencia ficción de ese año. Todos ellos están precedidos por una ilustración y una pequeña biografía de la autora.</p><p>✨ «Lenguas maternas», de S. Qiouyi Lu.<br>–Traducción: Bruno Álvarez y José Montserrat <br>–Ilustración: Genie Espinosa <br>Interesante relato escrito en segunda persona que muestra un terrorífico concepto: el de olvidar un idioma, incluso la lengua materna. No olvidarlo porque dejamos de usarlo poco a poco, sino olvidarlo de golpe, borrarlo de nuestro cerebro como si nunca hubiera estado allí. La autora reflexiona sobre cómo al hacer eso la protagonista pierde la relación con sus raíces. Es un relato breve, fácil de leer pero que deja cierto poso de tristeza e invita a la reflexión.</p><p>✨ «Haz como que no me has visto y yo haré como que no te he visto», de Maria Dahvana Headley <br>–Traducción: Cristina Macía <br>–Ilustración: Luis Bustos <br>Al principio no se sabe muy bien de qué va, pero el final resulta muy emotivo. La manera de escribir de la autora es directa, pero a la vez muy poética. Es algo más largo que el primero, pero no se hace pesado. </p><p>✨ «Intervención», de Kelly Robson <br>–Traducción: Ana Quijada <br>–Ilustración: Carlos García Arroyo <br>Relato emotivo que oculta una reflexión y un mensaje sobre la crianza y la responsabilidad de las personas que se dedican a educar a los futuros adultos. No solo de manera profesional (maestros, profesores), sino también padres, madres o cualquier persona que haya cuidado o educado a un niño.</p><p>✨ «Cuando no había estrellas», de Simone Heller <br>–Traducción: Salvador Tintoré <br>–Ilustración: Marina Vidal <br>Relato largo, pero bonito y bellamente escrito, con un estilo muy elegante. Ciencia ficción que oculta la historia de una amistad improbable y, sobre todo, la esperanza por un futuro posible y mejor.</p><p>✨ «Widdam», de Vandana Singh <br>–Traducción: Teresa Jarrín <br>–Ilustración: Emma Ríos <br>Relato muy actual sobre las consecuencias del cambio climático y el papel de las grandes corporaciones y empresarios. Está ambientado en India, Nuevo México y Estocolmo con diferentes personajes protagonistas.
