Bill Toulas wrote a summary about the drama with #Ultralytics #YOLO at bleepingcomputer.com
In the meantime, I learned that there is a #GitHub repo about dramas at GitHub:

Super excited about the 50th (FIFTIETH! We've organized FIFTY of those?!) Paris Women in Machine Learning and Data Science meetup, featuring Irène Waldspurger on low-rank optimization and @Isabellecollet on AI and male fantasies of self-engineering!
Oct 11 at 18:30 at Pruna.ai (Paris, 9th arrondissement). Everybody is welcome, just register to attend on meetup.

@gerrymcgovern Or summarized:
#challenge - write a program that calculates the area of a rectangular.
Junior dev takes 1 coffee and 3 minutes with a result of 12.
#machineleaning takes 5 TByte of data, 60 hours training with a result of 11.997459...
I am not sure that everyone gets that RLHF is a form of supervised learning.
RLHF does not work without human labels (preferences) nor human curated training samples.
Hi all.
I would like to give my #introduction. I am an Associate Professor (Reader) of Artifical Intelligence in the UK. I am interested in #deeplearning and applying #machineleaning and #DataScience to smart cities and healthcare solutions. I am currently studying the Practical Deep Learning course by @jh. I have been involved in participatory governance projects for about 10 years now. I have joined Mastodon as I’m very interested in professional networking and collaboration.
I really like Eyal Dechter's thesis "Using the Language of Thought". I think stochastic context free grammar induction maps well to the requirements for episodic to semantic learning.
I did badly in the latest Kaggle competition and spent few days trying to find out why. I found why: I implemented a different metric than the competition metric, i.e. I spent 2 months optimizing for the wrong metric! Can there be a more stupid way of doing #machineleaning ?
My new article in @towardsdatascience
IML can increase/improve:
- Accuracy
- Performance in production
- Trust
- The reach of ML
- Storytelling
- Knowledge
Would you add anything?

Working on a new article "Debugging a PyTorch Image Model with SHAP"
A mini-car takes images of a track as input. Using these, a model is used to make predictions which then turn the car.
Using SHAP, we can see the model uses background pixels when making predictions. This causes problems when we move the car to a new location.
Should be out next week :)
Are bootcamps for datascience/machine learning useful? Or is it just a waste of money and time?
Any thoughts about that? Any recommendations?
Each new paper proposing a generative text or image model should include a table evaluating how hilarious the resulting memes are, compared to the prior state-of-the-art.
By this metric, Craiyon (formerly DALLE mini) and Garkov (http://joshmillard.com/garkov/) are very strong baselines.
To the #nlp community:
What annotation tool do you recommend?
Mostly for named entity recognition purposes but any option is valid.
This feels like the early days of Google+. A great #MachineLeaning community

Hello Everyone, I'm looking for some opportunities in healthcare sector specially research position. I also have couple of ideas to discuss what's I'm working on and what's my motive so I would like to connect with people with same industry and explore something valuable together. Thanks
#Introduction I'm a newly unemployed (). Machine Learning Engineer. Trying to find all the relevant ML follows from Twitter. On the bird app mostly for that community. Glad to see quite a few here.
I just moved to sigmoid.social, so here's my intro again (sorry for repost):
Here's my #introduction: I'm a swesearcher in Google Brain #Montreal, working mostly on #reinforcementlearning , but also trying to use #MachineLeaning for #creativity.
I'm also a jazz musician and have a #disklavier with which I do funky piano visualizations (check out my YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/c/MUSICODE_psc ).

Hello!
Hi all, #Introduction time. I'm a #rugby mad #Irish man who's hopefully about 6 months away from getting my master's in #dataanalytics, which includes a good helping of #stats, #MachineLeaning and #AI. A native speaker of #gaeilge, love to talk #tech, #science, or just shooting the breeze.
