It’s a bit niche but probably the most common reason to use unencrypted FTP (besides madness) is #RetroComputing .

I don’t want to brag but I got this smaller “Mac Mini” in 2023.

I bought the PowerPC G4 one on the side in 2024 though (to run #MorphoS).

Just in case you haven't heard it: #AmiSSL 5.16 has been released two days ago. AmiSSL is the #OpenSSL port for #AmigaOS, #AROS and #MorphOS.

Changes in the current version:

* Updated OpenSSL backend to full compatibility with the latest OpenSSL 3.3.1 (4.6.2024) version which includes these low severity bug fixes and mitigations:

*Fixed potential use after free after SSL_free_buffers() is called. (CVE-2024-4741)

* Fixed an issue where checking excessively long DSA keys or parameters may be very slow. (CVE-2024-4603)

Ported #gcc14 for #MorphOS. The #rust frontend #gccrs works and produces working code, too. The usability of this thing is currently somewhat limited of course as gccrs is still experimental.
