To me the main issue seems to be one of costs. They'll do it if it's profitable. For that we need to find enticing, but non-evil forms of monetization (subscriptions? #podcasting 2.0 sat streaming? Something else?) and find ways of helping to lower the cost of hosting, which I still maintain could be strongly helped by creating a desktop app that automatically seeds videos the user favorites. This way users, who often want to support #Peertube can add their storage and bandwidth to the network rather than the costs being all on the video creator.

If we can make it easier to bring income in with less costs, the hatred many Youtubers feel for #Youtube should dp the rest.

Ich bekomme immer wieder mal Lust, vielleicht doch wieder einmal ein paar Audiodateien vollzuquaken ("Podcast"), sozusagen als Erweiterung meines Blogs.

Ist Auphonic noch immer ein Ding oder nutzt man da inzwischen was anderes?

Für mich muss es möglichst bequem sein, sonst wird das eh wieder ein Strohfeuer ...

My thoughts after reading: Amazon is following Spotify’s and Google’s podcasting approach. Oh, and don’t worry about the narrative podcasts. They’ll be under Audible, which has missed every chance to be a meaningful place to listen to podcasts.

Open podcasting won’t die, even as Big Podcasting puts up more fences.

In an effort to leave spotify and find a podcast app that isn't full of AI-slop that turns an AI generated podcast summary into an AI generated podcast, I've finally settled on "Podcast Republic" as my new podcast driver. It's updated regularly and has a lot of features that I was either looking for or didn't realize I could really benefit from: autoskipping a set amount of time at the start or end of episodes, being able to add podcasts to certain playlists automatically, track listening time based on genre, etc. It's a small indie app available on iOS and Android.
