Which reminds me that I did in fact use that "garbage" B&W CRT you showcased as monitor for my original @RaspberryPi ...

And yes you don't want to run that above 80x25 chars or > 640x480 at all...

@MAKS23 maybe they should present a setup of #SDI like of space drones, so that the #nazi #regime in #moscow gets scared and start pouring money into their own program and run out of money in a few months kind of the way the #soviet union did in the 1980's.

@nickzoic @vwestlife the priblem is rather that I have some weird stuff that doesn't take your average converter.

I.e. #NeoGeo MVS...

Personally I prefer #OpenStandards like #DisplayPort, #SDI / #HDSDI, #DVI & #VGA / #RGB over proprietary stuff (i.e. #HDMI)...

Tho I'd preferably not buy a "#TV" but instead a #Monitor with #BNC input for analog video or even some surplus'd professional screen with #SDI or even #HDSDI inputs.

Most importantly are #VESA-Mounts tho!

1/2 Martin Tuchyňa at #QGISUC2024 (also) about what did MŽP (Ministry of Environment) learnt in the past few years regarding implementation of #INSPIRE / #SDI with #OpenSource components of which #QGIS is one example.

One tidbit: #QGIS (and other tools) tested with Slovak spatial services:

- 2nd best sucessfull amount of displayed view services
- 1st in amount of sucesfully downloadable services

@figuratum @jwildeboer There's however a reason why USB-C maxes out at 48V DC @ 5A and if you need strain relief and unplug/pull prevention there are "#Neutrik-Cinnectors" which basically take the keyed shield & latch from #XLR and just insert a different plug into those.

They are quire common and I've seen those for #USB, #Ethernet and even #SDI / #HDSDI!

The Sustainable Development Index has been updated with data through 2022. The SDI is a metric that (broadly) normalizes a country's level of human development by the resource consumption & ecological impacts required to provide that human development. Both hyperconsumptive & underdeveloped countries score poorly, while middle income countries focused on wellbeing tend to score well (Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, Uruguay)

@icedquinn Interestingly, #Intel did workaround that whole #HDMI assholeism by technically not implementing HDMI & #HDCP on their cards but only #DisplayPort and instead solder-down #DP-to-HDMI converter ICs for HDMI outputs...

#UnpopularOpinion but not making #SDI & 12G-#HDSDI over #Fiber mandatory was the biggest missed opportunity by @EU_Commission to make shit just work!
