But for other folks, dark mode renders content unreadable.
This is the key concept in #accessibility – give your users options, and give them control over their experience.
Respect their choices and fulfil their needs.

Saying “No-one using our service has accessibility needs” is a bit like saying “We don’t need a ramp, no-one in a wheelchair has ever come up the stairs”.
The ONS guidance on data visualisation is pretty comprehensive.
While I agree with Stéphanie here, I'd argue that you can still aim for 'delightful' in enterprise UX - but what constitutes delight is different in this context.
People are delighted if you can take a complicated multi-stage process and make it easier and, above all, faster. Time is the currency in this environment.

“Can we end an age of #austerity #serviceDesign?”, @loudowne.bsky.social asks in the latest #ServiceGazette.

I made an interactive version of Lou Downe's Good Services Scale.
https://design.scotentblog.co.uk/toolbox/good-services-scale/
In this episode, we're joined by Lou Downe, author of Good Services and former director of design for the UK government.
We sat down with Lou and asked—Where is service design going wrong, and are we even doing service design?
Among the topics we touched on were: The complexity of modern services and the complete reliance on infrastructure, as well as the importance of service literacy for leaders.
