Content strategy matters. Simply truncating notifications can be, well, problematic.
Ugh, non-cartridge converter fountain pens with no ink windows are so annoying.
Conforming to WCAG does not make your UI magically accessible, but it will be a lot more accessible than if nothing is done. #UX is a different matter...
An AI persona is more than just a voice; it's a data-driven character that shapes the entire user experience. But how is one built?
Our comprehensive guide deconstructs the process. Learn how AI personas are created from vast datasets and LLMs, and how they're used to revolutionize everything from UX design to hyper-personalized marketing.

On our plate these days: design improvements.
We’ve been working on both visual and functional updates to make your experience in OpenProject even better. You may have already noticed some of the changes, such as the improved header and sidebar navigation, the new inbox icon, and updates to the appearance of global modules.
There’s more coming with our next release. Stay tuned!
#UI #UX (#Svelte to the rescue?

Mona mastodon client on iOS is a multicolumn viewer, but if you scroll (swipe up) with your right thumb, the second (or 3rd or 4th) column often closes accidentally, because the app or iOS over-interprets intent to scroll horizontally when thumb motion is less than perfecly vertical. (The thumb makes arcs.)
You lose your view in the ~10-meter column or the entire content of the column, and there isn’t a back action.
Not sure if I will become left handed or just move to another client. #ux
The vision for The Web from the beginning has been that everyone should read and write. These days we primarily read or browse the web. We don’t really write so much anymore, especially long form content. People used to write on blogs. Now their writing is constrained to social media sites. We need a Web Writer app as opposed to the web browser — to leverage URLs, images, and formats to create a true read-write web
Thanks to @s3phy again for helping me understand another area where IPv6 is broken in Linux desktop networking configuration tools: connecting to a SSH server to create a SOCKS proxy using the NetworkManager SSH plugin. That thing only checks if the gateway address is a valid IPv4 address
I reported the issue here: https://github.com/danfruehauf/NetworkManager-ssh/issues/130
Hype is a business tool. Too many #UX folk don't know about the Gartner Hype cycle. Even those that do don't understand how it's being used to manipulate us, making our discussion of #genAI so complicated and scary. This is my attempt to calm things down a bit.

This is a great 2023 presentation by Máirín Duffy (@mairin) & Madeline Peck, about the benefits of using #PenPot (@penpot) in design projects at Fedora and other Free Code projects;

#UX as Biryani recipe at #KubeconIndia.
Hello Mastodon friends,
I’m looking for a client or a new position as a product designer or software developer.
I have over 8 years experience designing UIs, making UX decisions and developing with React/Next/Remix, Ruby on Rails and Nest (I’m not limited to these technologies but these are the ones I’m most skilled with).
Thanks for any recommendations.
There are two light switches, and one of them is flipped on. Which one?
Correct, the one which has the LED turned *off* and is pressed in at the *top*
Good read from @simon on the privacy UX challenges that come with building #AI tools, as evidenced recently by ChatGPT's share controls.
For many users these spaces feel similar to sending private messages. So even in a "Share" dialog, it needs to be super-explicit exactly how that circle is widened.
How do we ensure AI treats users with digital dignity? It starts with a respectful tone. This isn't just a superficial detail; it's crucial for building trust, mitigating bias, and defining brand identity. This article breaks down how to craft that tone, from persona creation to technical implementation.
