Norbert Tretkowski<p>Ich glaube, das ist das erste Mal, dass der Stand der <a href="https://gruene.social/tags/Android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Android</span></a>-Sicherheitsupdates (Plattform, Kernel, Hersteller und Firmware) auf meinem <a href="https://gruene.social/tags/Fairphone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Fairphone</span></a> 4 unter <a href="https://gruene.social/tags/CalyxOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CalyxOS</span></a> durchgehend aktuell ist...</p><p><a href="https://gruene.social/tags/FreeYourAndroid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FreeYourAndroid</span></a> <a href="https://gruene.social/tags/UpcycleAndroid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>UpcycleAndroid</span></a></p>
Ben Hur<p>So why upcycle Android instead of just buying new?<br>1. Minimize ewaste and give purpose to/extend the lifetime of older but working devices.<br>2. An updated version of Android often means better security (and sometimes better performance).<br>3. Removal of bloatware, having a deGoogled mobile experience, and more user freedom.</p><p>Got an old mobile device? Maybe we can give it new life.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Android</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LineageOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LineageOS</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DeGoogle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DeGoogle</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/UpcycleAndroid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>UpcycleAndroid</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Pinoy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pinoy</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TootSEA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TootSEA</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Tech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tech</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/FDroid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FDroid</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/APK" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>APK</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/KOReader" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KOReader</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Ewaste" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Ewaste</span></a></p>
Ben Hur<p>Officially, it supports up to Android 8.1 but after some tinkering, I got it to run Android 13 (Lineage OS 20). It's also fully deGoogled with most of the apps coming from FDroid or sideloaded via APKs.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Android</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LineageOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LineageOS</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DeGoogle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DeGoogle</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/UpcycleAndroid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>UpcycleAndroid</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Pinoy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pinoy</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TootSEA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TootSEA</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Tech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tech</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/FDroid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FDroid</span></a></p>
Ben Hur<p>I've been looking for a tablet to read my comics/manga on and while i could've just bought a new/recent one, there's something about upcycling Android machines that just feels more me. 🤣 </p><p>So I got this used Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016, model SM-T580) for about P3,500. 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and a good-enough screen (1920x1200 @224ppi) for a reader/media tablet. </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Android</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LineageOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LineageOS</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DeGoogle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DeGoogle</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/UpcycleAndroid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>UpcycleAndroid</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Pinoy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pinoy</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TootSEA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TootSEA</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Tech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tech</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a></p>
