Once a magnificent old growth tree. Chopped down by loggers many years ago; its trunk uprooted over time. It has rested on these Nitinat Lake shores for a long time.
There's big trunk graveyards in backroad lakes all over the island.

Birthed from alpine Goddesses of Earth, flowing from heavenly glacial peaks into breaktaking valleys, gently meandering through forests, elegantly flowing through wetlands and flushing into great big seas; rivers sustain life.

#Kwakiutl Bear Pole was carved by Mr. Henry Hunt of #Kwawkewlth Indian Band at Victoria, B.C. This iconic #TotemPole was erected in 1966.
