:neuro: Pixy's Journey :v_bi:
#Journal of a discomforted Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Tuesday, 22/07/2025).

My night had been decent enough. Not too much time where I was wide awake and uncomfortable. So it felt good to be getting some more sleep in. Until mum was having her breakfast and she knocked down a tea glass. Fortunately, the glass survived (by a wonder I guess). But the bang it gave startled me and I was wide awake then, with a fast beating heart. When my heart was more relaxed again, I got up and prepared some brekky. Mum had to go to Nijmegen for an appointment, so it would just be me home alone for a few hours.

I got my tablet and wrote a bit for my blog. While I was writing an email to a sweet friend, my bruises were starting to act up, and I had to send the email so I could lay down for a while, to change my position. I tried to get on my side, but my bruises and swellings would not allow that. So I had to make due with being on my back. I used an ice pack for a while, to try and calm the warmer affected area. I checked my temperature, and I didn't have a fever, so that was good. I just tried to relax as much as I could until mum came home.

While mum was enjoying her coffee, I slowly got dressed. I tried to put my socks on, and it kinda worked. But they needed a good pull to be comfortable in the end. After that, mum helped me with my shoes, and then we headed out for a little walk. And it was nice to be out and to be using the muscles and all that, it also felt a bit sore. As my pants softly rubbed on my reddish bruised area, and with the nerves not working properly there due to all the trauma, it sometimes felt like a small part of my leg was on fire. But I kept walking on, as I knew it would help me with the rehab in the end. The weather wasn't too bad, so that was a plus.

When we got back, I got back into my shortama and I tried to relax some more on the bed. My ice pack had been cooled again, so I tried to end the burning sensation that I was experiencing. Mum said that the bruises were a bit warmer, still, as they had been during the previous days. But to me, it just felt like they were burning up. But that could be the nerves not handling themselves properly. Still, it helped to have the ice pack for a while, even though my right elbow was getting a bit sore from keeping the pack in just the right place.

After some grumbling due to not being too comfortable, mum and I decided to take the second walk before we'd get ready for dinner and such. My left hand is starting to struggle a bit with the crutches. My thumb has had two surgeries there in the past, and it's been bad ever since. But with the crutches, there's constant pressure on the bad part. So now, after a while, the thumb starts to tingle a lot, and that hurts a bit. When we got back, I got back in my shortama. Some more relaxing, until it was time to make some food for mum and myself.

With all the things that mum does for me, I always try to prepare the food for her (and myself). She helps with getting it to the table and getting it in the dishwasher. But all that I can prepare, I will. Every evening before bed time, I also set everything ready for brekky for her. So she just has to boil her water for the tea, and grab the stuff from the fridge. People always tell me to take it easy, but it's also good for me to do the things that I am allowed to do. It's not much, but it does help me to feel a bit better and less useless, if that makes sense...

When we had dinner, mum joined me at the telly, and we watched some more Daredevil. We finished season one and went on to season two. I was grumbling every time I tried to get into a more comfortable position, sometimes with some silly grunts that made mum giggle a bit. Finally, I decided to take an extra painkiller. I waited for it to kick in, with the ice pack cooling the affected area. And, after a while, I was finally able to lay on my side. My back and neck were very grateful for that.

Mum went to bed, and I scrolled a bit on Masto. I finished a blog post that I had been working on. And then I tried to get comfortable enough to sleep. After a bit, I dozed off. When I woke up again for the loo, I could not believe my eyes. As I had been sleeping for almost 4 hours in one go! Wow! I went to the look, lay on my back a bit with my phone and all, and then I got back to my side. And... I fell asleep again, this time for about 3,5 hours. When I woke up, it was time to get up and all that, as mum and I would have to go to Nijmegen later on.

:pixy_party: 💜 🍀 🐾

#PixysJourney
#WeirdFolks
@weirdfolks
