The root question to ask yourself is:
"How many lives am I willing to sacrifice to achieve a better world?"
The answer should be "nobody" or "nobody except maybe the billionaires."
If not, then you don't want a better word for anyone other than yourself.
If your answer is along the lines of, "Well some losses will be unavoidable," and that loss isn't because "I will throw myself into the line of fire," then you're just as much a bigot and exploitor as the people who caused this mess. Because you're willing to sacrifice those "lessers," the unconsenting marginalized, for YOUR goals.
If that's the means that justifies your ends, then you're part of the problem. If your path towards a better world demands mass human sacrifice, then it won't be a better world. For anyone. Ever. You'll never get there. Because it's clear that you don't sufficiently value human life.
We will lose people, yes, but that should be because of the choices of our enemies, after we've done everything in our power to prevent it.
That's how we break the cycle. Any other path means a future where we haven't learned *anything*.

Every CanadaColonizers day, for several years now, we don't celebrate any past or present corporate colonial government exploitation/oppression. We dedicate the day to feeding & helping the vulnerable & marginalized folks that colonizers want to sweep under rugs & rid the streets of - so they can have their colonial celebrations while many in our shared communities are houseless & hungry. We spend some time with Indigenous elder friends. We check in on fellow BIPOC diaspora friends.
Canada can & should do more/better for its most marginalized citizens. Our sellout politicians choose to keep feeding the super rich capitalist jerks who greenwash more than they change underwear, bow down to fascists, are whitewashing liars on BIPOC issues & who are fucking over average citizens & smiling about it on TV.
This other couple. They looked a bit more alty, some piercings, pink hair, but not too alty.
At one point the guy starts looking around the room. She pauses and she's like, What? He's like, "I'm looking for a bone." (I guess they have some bones around the house — like I said, alty.) Then he reaches under the camera and produces a wooden stick with some decorations. Turns out it's an African pipe. Unsure if it's for smoking or playing, but he tries to play it. As she starts the video again, he sort of just...... cradles it in his arms.
I'm serious y'all, Heilung is a mirror that just shows you all this stuff working in the deeply repressed collective unconscious of white people. These forbidden roots in us that are screaming to be heard, they just have no voice.
I'm serious you could do a whole study on "white people first time reacting to Heilung on YouTube" that would completely expose everything about how whiteness works... and use these lessons to find the secret antidote.
A couple of notable moments today.
Two incredibly stereotypical middle class liberal white women watched Krigsgaldr, and the first words out of her mouth was: "Can you imagine if they work in an office during the day? Like 'hey Helga, what are you doing after work?' 'Oh I'm in a band, want to come see us?'"
She went immediately to the most familiar thing she knew and how harshly it contrasted with what she saw on screen. She had no other symbols or language to describe what she experienced. (Whereas I'd at least had some Wicca and Celtic lore under my belt for my first watching.)
Notably also is how they talked about the ancestral music of the "people of Norway and Europe," and I'm like THEY'RE YOUR ANCESTRAL PEOPLE TOO!!! (I left a comment to that effect, with fewer caps.)
It's like white Americans, we just sprung from nothing. No sense of connection to anything prior to 1776. That's part of the myth of whiteness. Yet still they *felt* their connection, even if they couldn't own it yet.
One category I haven't searched for in all the reaction videos I've watched is "White Evangelicals React to Heilung."
I doubt I'd find any? But if I did...

Just a little tip from a white American living on stolen land to other white people trying to decolonize:
Use your powers of commerce for good. Track down your local tribal businesses and shift your purchases over to them. (I know you have some – even living up north of Seattle I couldn't help but notice some, so I'm sure you'll find them if you actually go looking, and if not (say if you live on the side of the Mississippi where indigenous people were OUTLAWED), find some online.)
Money is power, so give some of your power to people who will use it for better things than Starbucks investors do.

Oh!! And the huge convenience store which was where we stopped on the way home after our emergency visit up here last fall while making the decision to escape mom to up here, the one where I posted (or intended to post) a pic of the Bear Spray Recycling Bin, is owned by the tribe! I will be shopping there on purpose now. It's closer to where I live than down in Bonner's Ferry proper. Maybe I'll make that my main gas station.
I remember it was a REALLY nice convenience store. Rather huge, lots of lunch type foods, like real sandwiches. I was super in trauma-brain, so I can't describe my fragmented memories well, but I remember being quite impressed.
I've been trying to get an accurate bead on the policing up here. Word from the human rights taskforce is that the three police forces, including Kootenai Tribal Police, cooperate, that they're aware of hate groups and keep an eye on them, and that they're not aggressive towards the left.
I'm trying to connect the dots here (I'm sure I'll learn more), but these dots seem to go: Kootenai refused to sign the treaty with the US that would have stripped their rights, held a peaceful war (civil disobedience and blocking traffic) to get rights without giving any up, and because of that got a significant amount of policing power, which has influenced settler policing.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that THESE particular cops are not bastards. Until I hear otherwise.

I see their cars out around town, btw. They were patrolling around the protest along with the sheriff.
