For #privacy reasons, I run it without #SIM, so I can't comment on normal phone calls. I like to use it for #SIP calls, but it seems, that #gnomeCalls still has one or the other bug in that respect. I hope for a fixed version soon™.
I use the #PinePhone for chat (#Dino), offline and online maps (#mepo, unfortunately not yet in #Debian), web (#Firefox) — but battery life is amazingly short.

1:1 A/V calls are well supported on #XMPP. Best clients for that are probably #Conversations_im (Android), #Monal (iOS), #Dino (Linux), #Movim (web). You want a #TURN server, of course.
However, A/V calls with more than two participants are not very common on #Jabber. I'm not even sure, which clients do support and which need an #SFU to function.

Mostly with WiFi but occasionally cellular data. Never with cellular voice calls or text.
Had tried Chats ages ago but the #OMEMO support was unreliable and there was no offline support at all. Lack off offline support was a total deal breaker for me.
