It's an AWESOME #Dreamcast emulator though! Can handle 2x resolution, with xBRZ texture upscaling!
Sadly--though #RetroArch is capable of passing the microphone through to cores, and #Flycast can emulate two VMU slots per controller--it doesn't seem to support the microphone accessory for talking to Seaman! 
Also, #retroachievements aren't working either 
The .cdi files will need to be converted to .iso before chding. Can't find windows binaries for cdi2iso anymore..
After a dozen dead ends, and nearly using up all my o3 queries I've decided to cut bait, and just leave the .cdi files uncompressed. Crusty old CD burner formats are still painful!
Funny thing is I *know* I used cdi2iso back when I owned a #Dreamcast to burn boot disks on my iMac.
The upside of all this reconversion work is that I discovered that my 1G1R redump collection actually contained a lot of games in .gdi or .cdi format which I hadn't correctly converted to .chd! Mostly prototypes "Ecco II Sentinels of the Universe" but also some Japanese #games like "Napple Tale"!!
I'm lucky to have #ChatGPT for this; it found the issue with redumped CHDs, then found a node script that can convert my bin+cues to .gdi, then it wrote me a .bat that can loop through all my #Dreamcast ROMs and convert each one to a .gdi file with a unique name. If I had ever figured that out on my own it would have taken days of work!
I bought the RP5 because my Anbernic RG Arc isn't powerful enough for #Dreamcast, #GameCube and #PSP, but I can't really fit all the games I want for those systems on my 512GB sdCard so I bought a 1tb one. That ought to be big enough to fit all the #PS1 and #N64 games too! I might throw my #SegaSaturn games on there too just to be a completionist.
Just found out about @brewotaku, a retro homebrew gaming magazine about new games for old consoles and stories about retrogaming in general.

Been drawing icons for my #dreamcast #tutorial the last few days. These were all #drawn from blank canvas in #Gimp, using the line tool and gradient fill buckets and the selection tool, along with the occasional rotate and transform tool. Liberal use of hue-chroma adjusting. Use the render grid function to create a solid color to be able to select to cut things into pixelated tris.
They are, in order: SH4, Holly, Tile Accelerator, RAM, FPU, Maple, ACIA, PVR Core, VRAM, and Store Queue icons.

I'm trying to explain what Modifier Volumes are in #Sega #Dreamcast #homebrew, as they're a pretty useful #graphics #programming tool on the system. Without expanding further, are you able to tell what a modifier volume does from this image? The modifier volume is the blue rectangular prism, the triangle is a second textured polygon that is being intersected by the modifier volume:

I got a #thing! I'm a little late to the party, but the #Anbernic #RG58XX Plus has arrived, received the #muOS custom firmware and been loaded with gems from a lost time. This sub-€60 #Linux handheld emulates everything from #Gameboy to #SNES, #PSX and #Dreamcast. And yes, it runs #Doom and #ScummVM too! I'm in love!

I'm using the motion controls in my Dreamcast fishing controller to play Tennis on a game/system that predates the Wii by SEVEN YEARS!

Any #dreamcast experts? Have a VA1 Dreamcast that is artifacting like hell on crazy taxi and straight up crashes on mars matrix. Works fine with THPS2, soul calibur, and house of the dead 2 though. Still has the problem with an ODE.. Dead/dying VRAM/GPU?
