What’s drawn less attention is how the *downsizing* appears to be part of an effort to #privatize the work of #FederalAgencies. In several instances, the companies poised to step into the void have deep ties to people tapped by #Trump to run #weather related agencies.

#Privatization would diminish a central role the #Federal govt has played in #forecasting since the 1800s, which…poses a particular harm for those facing financial strain who may not be able to afford #commercial weather data.

The Depts of #Education & #HHS also said in a statement they had notified the #school's accreditor that it had violated federal #law by not addressing alleged harassment of Jewish students. That could result in the loss of #Harvard's accreditation, making #students ineligible for #federal #FinancialAid.

The #DHS administrative subpoenas are in response to #Harvard denying requests for information regarding its Student Visitor & Exchange Program certification.

hope people realize that #ICE, the federal law enforcement agency comprised mostly of people who failed out of becoming police or other law enforcement, now has a budget that is ~50% bigger than all the rest of federal law enforcement (#FBI, Bureau of Prisons, #DEA, Marshals, #ATF, #SEC, #IRS, etc) put together.

the unaccountable guys in the masks who abduct people off the street are now probably the best funded law enforcement agency in the history of the world, maybe other than China's internal police.
