#Hunger als #Waffe gegen #Gaza wird bereits seit zwei Jahrzehnten systematisch eingesetzt.

#Israel weiß und kalkuliert exakt, was es tut, mindestens seit 2006. Der israelische Oberste Gerichtshof ordnete die Herausgabe entsprechender Dokumente an, 2012.

Kein Wunder, dass man damit weiter macht:

»Die #Hungersnot in Gaza zu belegen ist nur eine Frage der Mathematik: Die #Palästinenser können nicht ausreisen, der Krieg hat die Landwirtschaft beendet, und #Israel hat jeglichen Fischfang verboten. Praktisch jede Kalorie, die die Bevölkerung erhält, muss von außerhalb herbeigeschafft werden.

Israel weiß, wie viel Nahrung benötigt wird. Es hat den Hunger im Gazastreifen jahrzehntelang genau dosiert: Lieferungen wurden zunächst so kalkuliert, dass man Druck ausüben und gleichzeitig eine Hungersnot vermeiden konnte.

„Die Idee ist, die Palästinenser auf Diät zu setzen, ohne sie verhungern zu lassen“, sagte ein hochrangiger Berater des damaligen Premierministers Ehud #Olmert im Jahr 2006.«

#Hunger as a #weapon against #Gaza has been used for two decades already.

#Israel knows, and expressly calculates, exactly what it is doing, at least starting from 2006, as it was forced to admit by the Israeli Supreme Court.

»The mathematics of #famine are simple in Gaza. #Palestinians cannot leave, war has ended farming and #Israel has banned fishing, so practically every calorie its population eats must be brought in from outside.

Israel knows how much food is needed. It has been calibrating hunger in Gaza for decades, initially calculating shipments to exert pressure while avoiding starvation.

“The idea is to put the Palestinians on a diet, but not to make them die of hunger,” a senior adviser to the then prime minister, Ehud #Olmert, said in 2006.«
