Brad Vrolijk 💬
Not gonna lie…it’s very hard imagining Apple shipping #iOS26 on the regular schedule. The betas are riddled significant performance regressions even on relatively modern phones, I’m getting more crashes than I have on previous public betas, there are still a lot of things to iron out with the visuals of liquid glass, and from what I can see from the developers I follow, it’s a bit of a mine field behind the scenes.

Based on the experience of a fresh install of the beta on my iPhone 15, if they release this in a state similar to this it’s going to be a PR disaster for them. It’s frustrating though because it feels like all coverage of the OS is people using Pro Max top end devices where many of these issues are hidden. I dunno if they’re optimizing for those first or what, but you don’t have to dig too far to see plenty of people on the “normal” phones having plenty of significant performance issues.

And I know it’s beta, but this is rouuuuugh compared to the last several years of PBs.
