Richard MacManus<p>It’s been a week of behind the scenes work on my indie website. I did a lot of work beefing up the SEO code (thanks greatly to the advice of <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://henshaw.social/@jon" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>jon</span></a></span> and <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mas.to/@glenngabe" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>glenngabe</span></a></span>), so I’m hopeful that Google will soon index my site better. I also started developing an interactive feature for Cybercultural, incl hitting Wikipedia and Wayback APIs. That meant getting my hands dirty with JavaScript, but I’ve been calling on ChatGPT and the new VS Code / free Copilot to assist. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/IndieWebsites" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>IndieWebsites</span></a></p>
Richard MacManus<p>Cybercultural book update: I’ll be doing 2 memoir posts per week for the rest of December, in order to complete the serialization project by the end of 2024. I’ve done 60 posts so far, with part 1 running a full 13 months ago (link attached). It’s been a fun project, but I have a new plan for Cybercultural in 2025. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/IndieWebsites" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>IndieWebsites</span></a> <a href="https://cybercultural.com/p/001-introduction-to-bubble-blog-book/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">cybercultural.com/p/001-introd</span><span class="invisible">uction-to-bubble-blog-book/</span></a></p>

Richard MacManus<p>Re-did Cybercultural navigation bar over the weekend, by introducing drop-down menu for the internet eras. Menu feels cleaner and makes more sense structurally now.
