Pytanie do naszej fedi spoleczności:
Co macie zainstalowane na swoich sprzętach? Z czego korzystacie na codzień?
Może zacznę od siebie:
Pecet: #CachyOS, laptop: #Arch
Przeglądarka: #Firefox + uBlock, uMatrix, betterfox
Rpi: #LibreELEC + kilka dockerów
Telefon: #GrapheneOS, przeglądarka #ironfox
Telefon_2: #PostmarketOS z #Phosh
Router: #OpenWRT z #Luci + bloker reklam
Odkurzacz: #Valetudo
Ciekaw jestem waszych wyborów. Może podpatrzę coś ciekawego?
A może sami macie jakieś pytania do mojej konfiguracji?
As expected UnifiedPush works with Masotodon (v4.4.0+) web app!
#IronFox v140.0.4 is now available, go update! :)
NOTE: This release isn’t yet available on Accrescent, due to an unfortunate known bug: https://github.com/accrescent/parcelo/issues/718 - we’ve reached out to them and expect to have this resolved shortly, will keep you updated.
#IronFox v140.0.4 has been released, and the Firefox-based web browser for Android now officially supports UnifiedPush
Is there a lightweight #DarkMode add-on for #Firefox on #Android / #IronFox? #DarkReader way too bloaty and slows everything down, I absolutely advise against using it. Tried Dark Night mode but its configuration window won't open most of the time.
Good news! Next release of Fennec browser will support UnifiedPush. And IronFox plan to do it as well!
You'll be able to receive push notifications for many more apps if you're not using Play services, thanks to web apps.
1. #AdBlock and #Tracking Blocking on Android is easy.
Use a Browser like #Ironfox with #UBlockOrigin in advanced mode, and block known tracking Javascript that way.
Solved, no #Metapixel, #GoogleAnalytics, #YandexMetrica, #CloudflareInsights and whatever else exists out there. It is blocked from loading or executing, so it can't listen on your localhost either.

#grapheneos peeps using #ironfox... Ive got a setup where if you dont use a proxy you get slow speeds but if you do use the proxy its normal. Proxy is set in the WiFi config. When I speed test an ipv4 speed test site like ookla I get full speed, but fast.com uses #ipv6 and is speed limited. Also icanhazip.com shows the phone ipv6 not the proxy. Anyone know why ironfox isn't using the proxy for ipv6? Adding foxyproxy extension doesn't help
Firefox is dead to me • The Register
No notes. All good points. I'm still not going to a Chrome based browser. Not yet.
I hear Opera is nice if that day ever comes.
Main points:
As is pointed out in the article, most of the crap comes directly from Mozilla and management, not the people doing development.
It could be righted with a massive leadership change that isn't going to happen.
I've switched to IronFox on my phone and LibreWolf on my laptops. I'll keep doing that as long as it's feasible.
I have to use Edge and Firefox at work because they are "approved" (along with Chrome) and centrally managed.
Edit: fixed a typo.
@dusepo
#librewolf is my preferred for desktops, #ironfox or #fennec for android. Firefox forks are the best we've got for now.
There are projects for net-new browser engines, such as @servo, but nothing production ready for some time to come unfortunately.
I've stopped using Firefox since the drama a while back... Using #ZenBrowser and #LibreWolf mainly on macOS and on #Android, #Ironfox and #Cromite (as an alt browser). But I'm having quite a lot of website functionality problems when using Ironfox. Can't create accounts, forms not working, can't use #webauthn, pages not loading correctly, checkouts or shopping sites broken, etc. I guess I need to have #Firefox still installed... It's annoying. What's your workaround? #browsers #androidbrowser
#IronFox v138.0.3 is now available, up on GitLab & our F-Droid repo - go update! :)

Unfortunately, we're unable to upload this release to Accrescent at this time, due to what appears to be a technical issue on their end. We've reached out to them though and will keep you updated.
