The sink needed fixing.

Windows can be repaired, unless they are the kind made by Microsoft. This one was quite damaged, but it's now fixed and put back into its frame. I think I'm getting the hang of this. #restoration #diy #OldHouse

If the houses on #smithisland could tell their story…. The once thriving island is pretty quiet these days. Smith Island is the only inhabited island in #maryland with no bridge connection to the mainland. With a dwindling population spread across three communities: Ewell, Rhodes Point and Tylerton. Living on the water is beautiful, but it wreaks havoc on the buildings. Any resources for repairs come by boat. Many #abandoned structures are slowly crumbling.

Do you remember when custom vans were the "it" thing to have. For me it was just a thing to dream about, because back in those days I couldn't afford such extravagances. In fact, I only knew one guy (in the Army) who had one. Something that I've learned over the years is wanting something is more exciting than having it.

The first spring in a new home is always about discovery. We’re only the 5th family to own the place in 174 years. I was deeply saddened to learn today that the last set (who were only here 2 years) cut down the cherry tree and many others I’d have loved. #gardening #OldHouse #MaineWoods
