Here's a new javascript implementation of my #ilo vm, and #pali assembler. This will not yet run #konilo as it lacks the block storage device currently, but is proving useful for testing smaller things & fixes some issues w/the original implementation. I'm hoping to expand it to be able to run the full system this summer.

#Pāli holds a key role as the language of the #Theravāda #Buddhist canon, the #Tipiṭaka. It connects early Buddhist teachings to the cultural and religious exchanges of ancient #SouthAsia
. Though often called "dead ", Pāli remains studied
, recited
, and revered in Buddhist communities
. This article explores its origins, development, and role in preserving Buddhist teachings:

I missed the launch of brew.bsd.cafe, but now that it's live I have setup a few repositories relating to #ilo and #konilo on it.
My rationale is that the primary repository has a messy history, and has a lot of data due to the size of the block set, which doesn't diff well due to being binary data. The new repositories provide more focused access to specific parts of the system, and will let me keep things cleaner going forward.
It will probably be a few days before I have everything committed in these, but the first three are done and the other two are being filled in.

Tiny linguistic triumph today: Noticed an inconsistency in a #Pali verse: "Tanhaya japati soko, tanhaya jayati bhayam" meaning "Craving begets sorrow, craving begets fear." Realized it should be 'jayati' in both instances, and indeed, other sources confirmed it. Caught a typo? #LanguageNerd https://www.tipitaka.net/tipitaka/dhp/verseload.php?verse=216#:~:text=Verse%20216%3A%20Craving%20begets%20sorrow,there%20be%20fear%20for%20him%3F
#Introduction #IrishTwitter #IrishMastodon I practice Theravada #Buddhism of the Thai Forest Tradition for many years, which includes not only #meditation, but also following the 5, sometimes 8 precepts. I was given the #Pali name Mettikā by Venerable Vimalanyani, a German #bhikkhuni ordained in Sri Lanka. Interested in Engaged Buddhism as a queer neurodivergent practitioner.
