For 3 minutes at 8pm every day I'm going outside to bang some pots and pans and chant:

No More War

It might not save the world, but it'll save my soul.

It may be stupid. What's more stupid is making killing machines, supplying them for money or favours, using them to kill people, doctors, teachers, civilians, children...

No one deserves to live, thrive, and be happy, more than others.

click.actionnetwork.orgTake Action: Stop the ‘Big Ugly Bill’ Right now, the Senate is considering a huge budget bill that will pull the plug on thousands of planned solar, wind, and clean energy projects, and result in higher electric bills from coast-to-coast. This bill has already passed the House—but there is a good chance that we can stop this anti-clean energy bill in the Senate if we raise our voices. Can you send a message to your Senator to tell them to protect clean power and lower our energy bills by rejecting the HB1 budget bill? This bill has received a lot of attention for its tax cuts for the wealthy and devastating health care cuts. But fewer people know that this bill would set back America’s clean energy economy and raise utility prices! Right now there are thousands of clean energy projects being built across the United States. Solar plants to power homes with the power of the sun. Wind farms providing jobs to rural communities. Battery factories bringing manufacturing back to the Rust Belt. If this bill passes, 331 factories making things like solar panels, heat pumps, and parts for wind turbines could close and America could lose over 400,000 jobs in the clean energy economy. This attack on the clean energy economy would increase your energy bill by $400 a year, all while polluting our air and water. This is the most dangerous attack on clean energy in US history. Can you contact your Senator now and tell them to vote NO on HB1 to protect clean energy and lower our energy bills? Sun Day is a movement to celebrate the power of clean energy. Solar, wind, and other clean power are providing more electricity to the world than ever before, at lower costs than dirty fossil fuels. We need to continue that momentum if we want to create a better future for all of us. Click “START WRITING” to use our simple tool to reach both of your Senators. It only takes a few clicks and has a BIG impact.

@lauren

When #ICE starts #kidnapping, #abducting, #disappearing the #H1b #immigrants, that's when #BIgTech will begin to give half a damn.

I expect some of the #staff that keep #DodgerStadium a #destination ballpark are the same folks who ICE wants to round up.

Seriously, I haven't followed #baseball since the #Astros were put in the junior circuit, though, allowing for #inflation, there are probably a few #Dodgers players who make over $1M, so this is petty cash.

Don't let the #marketing fool you, this is primarily intended to #protect their #assets.

@bascule #Protester's lifeline according Jennifer Shin: "If you're protesting on #Saturday please wear a cap and mask to protect your identity from the #cult.
Also, it was suggested to me that you should write the phone number of the #ACLU #FirstDefenseLegalAid on your arm. That number is 1-800-529-7374 in case anything happens."

+ Also you could/should additionally write a number of a loved one at home or a lawyer you trust on your arm (waterproof ink).

#MarshMadness day 19 :boost_requested:

Today is a little different. Today I am asking you for action, especially if you live in the US.

We have only six more days to comment about the looming removal of NEPA: National Environmental Policy Act. This act was a simple yet very effective framework for protecting our environment and has far and wide reaching positive effects. It is often called the "Magna Carta" of our environment laws. NEPA was one of the first laws ever written that establishes the broad national framework for protecting our environment. For example, sewage treatment to ensure clean water is a direct result from NEPA. It was signed into law by Nixon, and has enjoyed bipartisan support.

Please go to: federalregister.gov/documents/ and leave your comment. Make sure to follow the rules of including the name & docket number in your comment.

A bit of history on the law side: epa.gov/archive/epa/aboutepa/1

Overall history: historylink.org/File/9903
Quote of note:
"Russell Train, the council’s original chairman, looked back on NEPA’s legacy 40 years after its signing by writing, “It is fair to say that NEPA brought environment front and center to federal agencies, and this can be deemed a success brought about, in no small part, by the many federal employees and citizens who have applied the law over these decades. ... No longer could federal agencies say ‘we know best’ ... . NEPA democratized decision-making”
