I wanted to listen to some Syd this afternoon, but I couldn’t decide which of his records to spin, so I settled on this Syd a’ la carte.

Pretty great entry-level course for the Syd newbie. All his dopest shit is here, as it covers all of his Floyd slayers as well as the key tracks from the solo records.

It’s sequenced very well, and SOUNDS really fantastic. Really great work all around on this compilation.

BOTH sides on the second LP are particularly outstanding. The run of songs from “Octopus” to the closer “Bob Dylan Blues” shows just how wildly unique (and borderline impenetrable) Syd was.
