Raunak<p>Built a tiny ARM64 ELF kernel which boots in a UEFI shell on QEMU. The kernel prints "Hello World\n" on UART. It compiles to a 193 byte binary.</p><p>Built this as an Impossible Stuff day project for my Recurse center batch. Still learning a lot about bootloaders, ARM64 device trees, QEMU. postmodern<p>What solutions do Wayland users use for passing keybindings (ex: Alt-Tab) through to a VM being viewed with <code>virt-viewer</code> or <code>remote-viewer</code> in a Wayland WM? X11 had some kind of special hint to tell the WM to pass all keybindings through to the VM's viewer window. Do you just temporarily disable keybindings while viewing a VM? Anders Lund<p><a href="https://expressional.social/tags/KaOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KaOS</span></a> Linux running in <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/QEMU" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>QEMU</span></a> in fullscreen mode on my laptop, part of my research for a suitable linux demo live image. </p><p>To achieve this, start in normal mode, then select view-&gt;fullscreen in the qemu window, then set the monitor resolution in the guest system to the same size as your screen.</p><p>KaOS people will see that I changed the configuration a bit, but I really like it anyways. It comes with LibreOffice as well as Calligra office, and being arch/arcos based it is of course up to date and easily maintainable. I didn't try the installer, but it's calmares, which is usually working just fine.</p><p>One issue with all the live images I tried so far is that they do not come with danish locale, making them unsuitable for a linux demo for danes. So I might end up creating my own version of <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/ArcoLinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ArcoLinux</span></a> Plasma Pro, while it is still possible.
