I was posting daily about my runs, and kinda fell out of that. but I HAVENT STOPPED! Ive been getting between 3 and 5 runs in a week since late May. Ive been doing about a mile and a half including the little warm-up and cool down walks I take before and after.

My Mile pace is down to under 13 minutes depending on how im feeling, and how ungodly humid it is (which it has been the past 2 weeks).

Its tough since I run before my work day starts, but i think i want to start adding some distance. I am doing this mainly for cardiovascular health, but i figure if im doing it anyway, why not try to lose some weight while I’m at it. 3-5 miles a week.. i dont think is going to get that done.

After so many grey and rainy days, today a mysterious bright ball of fire suddenly appeared in the sky. Could it be the thing called “sun” from ancient legend? 😅

A nice and easy 5k to celebrate our first clear morning sky in a long, long time. I even had a furry cheerleader waiting for me at the finish line. 🤣

Legs completely dead this morning after last night's race, which made the cycle over to #parkrun hard work (the headwind did not help). I did a solitary km warm up, just because I need the mileage for the week, and had nothing for the climbs (which are the first half of the run).

I had to stop to retie a shoelace on the way back down, which is why my Strava time is different to my official time. It was drizzling throughout, which wasn't so much refreshing, it just made everyone soggy.

Cycled home via the bike shop to see if my new bike was ready, which it was, so walked back after I'd finished my cycle home, showered and brought it home for its first spin. A different riding style to my folding bikes, but full-sized wheels really make a difference.

Another race replacement for a session. Instead of the 5 miles at half marathon pace on the plan I did almost 10k at 1:35 half marathon pace. Let's not dwell on the fact that I don't think I could have gone faster. I did get a hot dog at the end and was 15th female (5th in my age category).

The #heatwave may have broken, but it was still 20-22°C (68-72°F) for me rescheduled tempo run. Lots of water stops during the warm up, cool down and the 4 miles at 1:35 half marathon pace.

Finished the week with 42.16 miles (67.86km) run, with a full speed session and 4 miles at half marathon pace. Next week is double race week.

It's been extremely hot day. Felt like Summer overtook the rainy season. Went out for a short run to the pedestrian walk along a neighborhood creek. Ran 5 miles super slow. My body has not accumilated to this level of heat yet. #running #runner

I had noticed that whilst Strava had updated my race predictions for my loss of fitness following London (recovery + reduced training), Coros seemed to think I was still in full marathon training and fitness.

To correct this, I conducted a Coros Running Fitness Test at the start of today's 10 miles. 5 minutes easy, 25 minutes at marathon pace (based on a 43-46 minute 10k time), 3 minutes at 10k pace/effort, 3 minutes at 5k pace/effort (which I couldn't hold), 5 minutes cool down, then easy home.

A bit of a blow to the ego having the correction in fitness made, but it means I will get more accurate credit for the training I am doing going forwards (and is a fair reflection of what would happen if I went out and tried to race any of those distances right now).

12 weeks until Great North Run, we'll see if I can make enough improvement to get near 90 minutes again.

Longest run since London and completes the week with 40.65 miles (65.43km) run, including 6 hilly miles of racing, and this fitness test.

A different #parkrun this morning, I cycled over to Pomphrey to celebrate Rosey's retirement. Not a favourite course as it is multi-lap, and you have to go 'Up Pomphrey' 3 times. Took it steady but still had to ease off with a mildly unhappy gut, it's lost fitness along with the rest of me.
