I already mentioned #Instruō small #analog #desktop #semimodular #synth #Seashell that looks like a work of art. I've been wondering for years why there are so few #hardware #instruments with a tight integration to #computer software and #DAWs, so here's one. It also sounds amazing in demos, can't wait to hear one IRL.

That looks like nothing, but that is the back of my auxiliary modules for the 2600 #semimodular #synth. I needed all the 2hp space of this 19" #eurorack rails, so I put the power supply in the back. The rails are slotted for square nuts only on the front, so I tapped some 3mm threads in the back so I could mount some standoffs, and mount the eurorack power supply to them.

@muz4now the Arp 2500 was a nice #modular #synth, with a good sequencer and sequencer/mixer and interesting mod+amp and filter+amp modules. The one thing I was not a fan of, the matrix switchers. Not a matrix in the style of the Putney but instead a bunch of sliding switches. The #2600 #semimodular #synth was about as good as a semi modular gets.

Another experiment in #minimalist #ambient #music with the portable #Behringer #Neutron. The built in delay & distortion built into it helps a lot, I don't have to carry much to make complete tracks. Sequenced from the #Korg SQ1. Recorded in the great outdoors directly to a Tascam digital recorder. Great North Carolina weather recently, so these sessions are doubly enjoyable.

One thing that has become clear, doing lots of quick patching / unpatching (#jamuary forces you to optimize): my wall mounted patch cable holders are too far. Going to try a holder that is made to be mounted on a mike stand. That way it’ll be at arm length. I also like the 3 sided aspect, so i can organise by length/colors and just rotate if i need shorter / longer.
I’ll probably use the wall mounted for power supplies and 1/4” and midi cables.

@fredbrooker @MuSociety you’ll need more patch cables. You can never have too many patch cables. I would also suggest some splitters (multiples). I have some 6 ways (i call them hexapods) especially for use with the arp 2600, neutron and full modulars (although i have a few mults built into some).
