Personally, I have a Visa issued through Chase. I called the number on the back of my card to let Chase know that their partner Visa harming their product, and I was considering canceling my card over Visa doing Collective Shout's censorious dirty work.

I also called Visa directly on the 800 number to let them know that I intentionally chose to use my American Express card instead of my Visa for my purchases in the last week because Visa allowed themselves be the club for some religious fundamentalists and their agenda to impose censorship on everyone else.

I'll probably email AmEx too to encourage them to not take part in this stupid exercise in morality imposition.

Sadly, #Tarsnap seems.to only accept #CreditCards via #Stripe (which are harder to get than #Monero in #Germany, so I can't even evaluate it.)

I wish they supported Monero or even #Paysafecard cuz #Shitcoins like #Bitcoin are just bad!

  • Ideally they did support #SMS payment too but offering that globally would be even more painful than having a #SEPA bank account setup remotely without #EU residency.

Is there any acceptable way to get support for Libre Software development nowadays which is not US based? Ideally in EU for my case.

I've stopped using Liberapay despite being early adopter due to the use of Paypal and Stripe (not their fault, Liberapay team does a great job, they just had to find alternatives after Mangopay debacle), and I have same issue with Patreon.

Companies are reaching a disgusting level of dehumanization. I had it with them constantly asking for private documentation / IDs, their threats of interrumping services and their stupid #AI chatbots.
We use @Liberapay for collecting donations to @gnusolidario . Unfortunately, #stripe acts as a middleman and in the end, they behave the same as the bullcrap of Paypal.

Any other libre alternatives that treat people respectfully?

i've never used the stripe "link" feature before but while pairing with someone today, i saw that he had it enabled.

i was tempted to turn it off for the new #gnome donations flow, because it felt like just an extra field to ignore.
