These #Republicans from #Pennsylvania are proposing a state law to make it legal to deny Freedom of Information requests if someone deems the requesters "vexatious." Qantas obtained an injunction to prevent the publication of any of its stolen data.

This strikes me as an abuse of injunctions.

There was nothing particularly sensitive about the types of data in the Qantas breach. And criminals are going to laugh at any injunction and leak the data or sell it anyway if that's their plan, so what does the injunction really accomplish or who does it really help?

Censoring the press from reporting on data in fairly common types of breaches does not serve society well and strikes me as just a litigation defense strategy to limit potentially bad press.
