“fighter spaceship with 10-ton hull, 1977 science fiction rpg, line drawing”

"fighter spaceship, 1977 science fiction rpg, line drawing"

“fighter, 1977 science fiction rpg, line drawing”

These were all done with standard v6.1, 4x4 images only, no styles, no redraws or inpainting. Highly consistent to the point of almost being boring - 3/4 views, standard anime style space fighters

I feel like the 2nd set (“with 10-ton hulls”) produced the most varied designs, but then the last set started doing actual scenes, albeit mixed in with a lot of space guys with space guns (because fighter can mean that, I guess)

“scout spaceship with 100-ton hull, 1977 science fiction rpg, line drawing”

"frigate spaceship with 1000-ton hull, 1977 science fiction rpg, line drawing"

"cruiser spaceship with 10000-ton hull, 1977 science fiction rpg, line drawing"

"dreadnought spaceship with 100000-ton hull, 1977 science fiction rpg, line drawing"

I'm being more selective with these ones, in that they don't always draw the “right" size spaceship I’m after. But mostly they all look pretty cool

“research spaceship with 10000-ton hull, 1977 science fiction rpg, line drawing”

“racing spaceship with 10000-ton hull, 1977 science fiction rpg, line drawing”

“cargo spaceship with 10000-ton hull, 1977 science fiction rpg, line drawing”

"passenger spaceship with 10000-ton hull, 1977 science fiction rpg, line drawing"

A few more explorations of space latent space, to see how specifying the type of spaceship changes things. (Answer: somewhat)

BTW I'm trying out this to generate the alt-text, and it's not bad asuo-images.streamlit.app/

@AirmindedAI

You can feel the "Macross" design inspiration here.

@AirmindedAI I was sold on it by the cutaway paintings of the fighters. And Space Rome and Space Sanitised British Empire were relevant to my interests. Shame the rules weren’t all that wonderful.

@dirtysnowball That was *exactly* my experience! Came for the cool spaceships, stayed for the weird world building, left because of the cumbersome gameplay

@AirmindedAI Does specifying other individual years in the ‘70s give notably different results?

@michaelgemar Tried some other years and they didn't seem to make much difference, but keeping it maybe (?) helps with the look I’m after

@AirmindedAI why 1977? Is that era where line drawing were particularly popular?
