tl;dr: I got tenure! Teaching my first year on the tenure track was one of the hardest things I’ve done.
To celebrate making it through two semesters of teaching I made a batch of wine and labeled it “Beginners luck.” I saved a bottle to drink when I got tenure. I cracked it today!
Friends, the wine did not age well. It’s gross and I couldn’t finish a glass. What does it mean? We could make a joke about academia, but instead let’s just say the lesson is to not delay joy. Drink the wine today!
