The theory that predicted black holes and so much else in the universe is called “#Einstein’s General Theory of #Relativity”.
The people who helped him put it together are rarely given credit.
Here is one of them: https://amzn.to/42Qk9hp
I've been watching videos and reading up on cosmology, astrophysics, and particle physics.
It sure beats the news these days...
I reference #Oppenheimer, #Einstein, #Berners-Lee & others to try to figure out if #AI is going to kill us or not. I don’t think I figured it out & I’m sure they wouldn’t approve. https://www.martinbihl.com/business-thinking/is-ai-going-to-kill-us-or-not #artificialintelligence
"𝙽𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚜𝚖 𝚒𝚜 𝚊𝚗 𝚒𝚗𝚏𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚕𝚎 𝚍𝚒𝚜𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚎. 𝙸𝚝 𝚒𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚖𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚕𝚎𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚍."

Einstein honored Lenin
I honor Lenin as a man who completely sacrificed himself and devoted all his energy to the realization of social justice... one thing is certain: men of his type are the guardians and restorers of the conscience of humanity.

#TopicOfTheDay: On 5 April 1955, #Nobel #Literature laureate Bertrand #Russell wrote to physics laureate Albert #Einstein to ask for his support in standing up against nuclear weapons.
Einstein agreed. The letter led to the Russell-Einstein Manifesto, which Einstein signed days before his death.
A rare cosmic phenomenon called an #Einstein ring.
There are two galaxies, separated by a large distance. The foreground galaxy is at the center, while the background galaxy appears to be wrapped around the closer galaxy, forming a ring.
The light from the more distant object is bent about a massive intermediate object because #spacetime, the fabric of the #Universe itself, is bent by mass, and therefore light travelling through #space and #time is bent as well.

Fashion-Apps?
Was kann man machen? Steuern?
On this day in 1916, Albert Einstein published his general theory of relativity, suggesting that gravity curves spacetime itself—a revolutionary concept that needed proof.
This #video explains how astronomers used a 1919 solar eclipse to confirm #Einstein's theory and change #physics forever:

@stefan Albert #Einstein was a great physicist, but he wasn't an economist. Maybe you should read Ludwig von Mises' books on why not #socialism. You can also read/listen to Murray Rothbard on the subject. The books are free. https://mises.org/library/book/socialism-economic-and-sociological-analysis #mises #capitalism #propaganda #rothbard

Today in History, March 14, 1879, Albert Einstein was born. In addition to being one of the most significant physicists of all time, he was also a pacifist. Yet his letter to President Roosevelt warning of the Nazi progress on atomic weapons research was arguably key to the U.S. implementation of the Manhatton Project, a decision he later lamented. In 1955, well after the Cold War and nuclear arms race had begun, he and ten other intellectuals and scientists, including other Nobel Prize laureates, like Bertrand Russell and Linus Pauling, wrote a manifesto warning of the dangers of nuclear weapons. Einstein also participated in the U.S. Civil Rights movement, calling racism America’s “worst disease.” Later in his life he began to support socialism, and he criticized the Bolsheviks for their barbarism. Einstein was also a Zionist, and supported Jews’ right to return to Palestine. However, he did not support a Jewish state, or an Arab state, to replace Mandatory Palestine. Rather, he wanted a free, bi-national Palestine in which Jews and Arabs shared sovereignty, living peacefully and equally with each other.
