This #linocut shows an obstinacy of buffalo in all senses of the words. The collective noun for a group of buffalo is a "obstinacy". Clearly, these are hard-headed beasts. These ones have drawn a line in the sand. I dare you to cross it. Technically, these are American bison (Bison bison), known colloquially in North America as 'buffalo'. These mighty beasts were once obiquitous across the Great Plains. 1/2

Seen today at the Zuiderzeemuseum. There is a decorative painter’s studio, all kinds of traditional techniques are demonstrated on Saturdays, including lettering. It was marble imitation today, though.

This linocut shows a smack of jellyfish. The collective noun for a group of jellyfish is a "smack". This amuses me, because I imagine them smacking their tentacles together in some sort of deepsea high five. To be honest, marine biologists speak of 'blooms' and we do tend to lump in a bunch of soft-bodies marine creatures into the term jellyfish, all of the gelatinous zooplankton in fact....
