Damned Lies, the GNOME's translation platform, now supports third-party authentication. It is now possible join the translation effort using Fedora, Launchpad, GNOME SSO, GitHub, GitLab.com and Google.

Gettext is adding support for custom flags in PO files!

The intention it to make it easier to handle workflows like AI pretranslation, review/approval, or project-specific checks — all while keeping flags reliably stored.

@rauschma Hi, did you mention recently that a TypeScript union type is limited to 25 elements? I can't find your post about it. (Searching Mastodon is a bit of a black art, it seems.) Is that true or do I remember this incorrectly?

The reason is that I am experimenting with scheme for localizations where the allowed strings to localize are elements of a union type. A limit of 25 would be really bad.

I think we're good for now, but don't hesitate to suggest further improvements, to any of the translations.

A healthy economy doesn't break if one big conglomerate goes down, for whatever reason.

Our economy is not healthy, but it could be. Local and Regional producers are the key to a sustainable future, not relying on exploitative food and goods shipped halfway around the world.

The caveat is that sweatshop conditions cannot be tolerated. It only works with living wages and reasonable incomes.
