I usually prefer sake from northern Japan, but Harushika Extra Dry from Nara (more like Super Dry 😋) is an exception. Another favorite is from Hakkaisan Brewery in Niigata (northern Japan) 😊 Neither is even Ginjo, yet they are excellent and both among my favorites😊

University of New Mexico Art Museum: UNMAM Awarded $200,000 to Launch Digital Collection Access. “The University of New Mexico Art Museum (UNMAM) has been awarded a $200,000 grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) to digitize its collections. The grant will be awarded over the course of three years. The NHPRC is the grant program of the National Archives.”

OCR for MLK and JFK files

It would be very helpful if the Presidential Assassination files were searchable. Researchers could look up keywords and phrases and look for patterns without having to read the entire collection. Since the files are in pdf format, an OCR (optical character recognition) program could process the files and make them searchable. Instead of just the file name, important concepts like “PPC” (Poor People’s Campaign) could be searched for throughout the collection.

Has anyone heard that this has already been done somewhere or is interested in making this happen? Thinking about Digital Ocean.

Standing Statue of the Twelve Divine Generals (Tenpyo), Shin-Yakushi-ji, #Nara, #Japan. Of the 12 statues that protect the principal image, Yakushi Nyorai, 11 are designated as national treasures, except for the statue of General Miyabira, which is a supplement to later generations. It is almost life-size and is said to be the oldest statue of the twelve gods in the country.
