I was bored. I started watching QI on Brit Box (Series V and got to Episode 8).

QI is always a good program for a laugh, this particular episode is very funny.

I have never laughed so hard! It's crude and hilarious! Especially the bit at the end about a Madras curry and the back garden.

For those in the UK or those in the US subscribed to #britbox:
“Ludwig” is a great detective show.

And if you like David Mitchell - he's also very funny also in the crazy and rather crude “Upstart Crow" Shakespearean comedy.

@dsc it would be very easy to make BritBox into an amazing service. There are literally dozens of years of material, fantastic shows like Dr Who, Blackadder, Red Dwarf etc etc. None of which are on #BritBox! Even gems like Jonathan Creek was only there in part and disappeared. At least from the Nordic version.

#BritBox basically has hardly any content on it. But I will say that based on two episodes of #Ghosts, the British version is way, way better than the American one. In the sense that I actually found myself laughing. Which is a good thing if you’re watching a comedy :)

Sharper, tighter, more real (a weird thing to say, I know), a teeny bit nastier.

Continued thread

One wild thing about this show (we haven’t finished the season) is that of the 5 or so episodes they’ve been at port so far, it looks like they shot on location.

Like yeah, the cast is small and budget is whatever, but that seems like a thing. Sicily, Casablanca, Portugal, IIRC? Surely they worked out a deal with whatever cruise company. Or maybe I just don’t know anything about shooting in that part of the world.

Quite an excuse to cruise while shooting a show. 😄

Jess found this glorious show on #BritBox and I need you all to watch it because it’s the perfect confluence of two, technically three of our indulgences and we need more seasons:

1) Murder mysteries
2) Cruise ships (don’t hate me ok I’m sorry)
3 consolation prize) Dreadfully campy writing and acting, lol

I've started watching Murder in Paradise on Britbox for some cozy murder mysteries. I like it. It's nice to watch a show set on a hot tropical island in February. I decided to read one of the books it's based on and also enjoyed it. This one is a "locked room mystery." I like the relationship between the two lead detectives more in the book, I find the romantic subtext in the show unrealistic and distracting. #CozyMystery #BritBox #Bookstodon

Okay, between #Vera, #Shetland and #TheBay I am getting the idea that remote British islands, Northumberland, and working class towns in the UK are really dangerous. 🙃

Oh, and there must be a character actors full employment act or something because the casts of all these shows appear in every show as some kind of other character from their main show’s type. #britbox
