If you code websites, then you KNOW how it’s been to style form controls.
Watch this #cssday talk from @ntim.bsky.social to learn why it’s been so hard, and how we are going to fix it for the future.

I love #CSSDay. As well as great talks, it brings together so many of the CSS Working Group to share the newest CSS features being worked on!
If it wasn't for this conference, I never would have had the encouragement to join the working group last year. A huge privilege to be alongside these incredible people. Thank you for welcoming me in!
Is anybody out there using absolute font sizes in their CSS?
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/absolute-size
I saw @chriscoyier use them at #CSSDay and was wondering if this built-in typographic scale is any good?
Big thanks to CSS Day conference for the kind invitation, such an honor to speak! My talk was on June 6, the first day of Eid Al-Adha
It was great meeting so many online CSS friends in person and left feeling even more excited about what’s coming in CSS and the web
And the last two #cssday talks, the awesome talks by
- Hidde de Vries
- Bruce Lawson
I guess other #CSSDay visitors were also really excited at first when they received a personal email by John Allsopp.
I guess they were also a bit disappointed to find out that it was just a promotional email.
If you like scoped styles in vue or css modules, but wish they would do it without adding specificity…
That's exactly what at-scope does!
It still takes a unique-ish selector for the outer scope - but not for every element inside. And you can even skip that when embedding.

At #CSSday I heard from someone on the Chrome team that it is possible that they will look into #CSS linked parameters. For example, for passing them into #SVG.
Do you need this too? Are you tired of bundles with hundreds of inlined SVG icons as jsx?
Write about your use cases! Either here, or in your blog. Mention this in https://stateofcss.com/ in the “Shapes & Graphics Pain Points” section!
Also, read my article from the start of this thread if you'd like to learn about this (and more).
a good hotel cat for your timeline #CSSDay #CatsOfMastodon
Off to the shed (ten steps through the rain) to cut some things with lasers, and to make a clock.
Feeling inspired after two days of wonderful web-nerdery at a fantastic #cssday conference
