New to me and discovered via MetaFilter (what, y’all don’t read MetaFilter?): The Sampler Archive. From the front page: “The Sampler Archive database has been designed to share detailed information and high-resolution images of American girlhood samplers and pictorial embroideries from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.”

Need help from the Hive Mind. My neighbor asked if I would make this needlepoint into a pillow. No problem doing that but the piece is crooked. Carefully done and on grid squarely but crooked for some reason. Would like input on how best to stray it out. Thank you!!

Behold, my first ever needlepoint project!

Absolutely loved stitching this and I will definitely be needlepointing a lot more in future. It's actually supposed to be sewn into a bowl to fully finish, but I need to source some fabric before I can do that part.

So far due to the limited selection of colours in my local craft shop, the first reaction from a friend was to call it "dreary". But I think it's cute 😭

Anyway new craft achieved 😁

The Karl Marx #needlepoint design stitched up really nicely with DMC tapestry wool and glass beads for the eyes.

I painted an extra canvas - if you are a needlepointer and would like to stitch it up, DM me and I’ll send it to you!

It is 52 stitches across (4 inches) on Zweigart 13-mesh mono canvas.
