Less than a month before my youngest and I are going on our 8 day hike. Very much looking forward to it although my son isn't thrilled about the lack of showers (since we'll he sleeping in churches). I'm sure we will be able to wash up along the way.

I think I have finally figured out my summer hike with my son. Germany was on the table and so was the Cumbria Way for a bit but because of stress, I never got around to booking accommodation for either and now it's too late. And I couldn't get my son's passport renewed in time so we'll have to stay in the UK.
New plan is to walk the Golden Valley Pilgrim Way, a 60 mile route along the Wye Valley, the Golden Valley and the foothills of the Black Mountains. Accommodation would be in churches so hopefully they are all available. Very relieved to have found something.
