Looking for something I can run on Linux hooked to a scanner that will automatically store scans, hopefully by just putting in paper and pressing button on scanner.

e.g. recognise different bank statements and put them in different directories.

Also if it can make them all searchable as well that would be a bonus.

Going to start looking at openpaper

/cc @neil this feels like something you would have looked at for work?

Hey, is there a thing that:
* scans printed paper to email;
* is accessible as a service to a somewhat infirm elderly correspondent living in a small midwestern US town?

I have a correspondent who needs a service that works kind of like a fax, though delivering to email. He has no internet at home.

His local library does offer scan to email, but only as a service for picking up scanned documents from a branch in their library system. I'm in a different country

Mystery photo from my late grandmother's stash. Train passengers(?) pose with a boulder that's fallen on the tracks and blocked their progress. No idea what connection this has to my grandmother.

The back has a note, but I can read only some of the words. "Compliments [illegible, possibly a joke word] Charleston, WVa, May 22 1908"

As recommended by Curious Marc we're using the CZUR ET24 to scan bound documents. If we have anything that isn't already readily available, we hope to share these scans.

Special thanks to Joel Pothering for the Microsoft matched donation.
