@rchusid Idiots who don't vote are WHY everything is a shitshow and millions of people are suffering and dying.
FUCK everyone who didn't vote for Kamala Harris.
Who is the most liberal candidate in history.
And is a #Democrat unlike #Bernie who is older than Biden but MUCH less accomplished.

The ultra left seem to be really fucking stupid assholes who don't understand that nobody gets everything.

Oligarchs 'Terrified' #DemocraticSocialist Mamdani Might Win #NYC Mayoral Primary

"This is a tale that we're seeing across this country, where it's a battle of organized money versus organized people," #ZohranMamdani said on the eve of the election.

[Since this article was written, #Mamdani has won the Democratic primary.]

"The prospect a Mamdani victory is deeply worrying to many of the Wall Street bankers, corporate executives, real estate developers, mega-landlords and others who are bankrolling #Cuomo... Backers include billionaire former Mayor Michael Bloomberg; financiers Bill Ackman and Dan Loeb; Wall Street titans Blair Effron, Steve Rattner, and Antonio Weiss; Palantir founder and co-CEO Alex Karp; and former President Bill Clinton."

"Bernie Sanders calls out Congress for falling silent on US involvement in Israel's war on Gaza" [ ± 1-3 min]

Quote by MEE:
"May 10, 2025
"Why is there no discussion in the US government about why we are spending billions of taxpayer dollars starving children in Gaza?"
Bernie Sanders took to the Senate floor on Thursday to condemn Congress for falling silent on the US government giving military aid to Israel.
He accused Israel of "ethnic cleansing" and the US of incitement: "Trump is encouraging the ethnic cleansing of 2.2 million people".

"Say what you want about Trump, but he’s known to speak in simple and plain language. Does this make him dumb? I would counter that it makes him accessible.

Does this mean that Sanders and AOC should stop talking about oligarchy? Among their college-educated base, I see no reason why it’s a particularly bad idea. They understand the language and it resonates with them.

There’s also some polling out there from a progressive polling firm showing that most Americans can identify the definition of oligarchy when presented with a multiple-choice question. This isn’t the best polling design in the world, but it’s possible that Sanders and AOC have had some luck in popularizing the term.

But Democrats and progressives need to stop thinking that everyone in America has a college degree and follows every bit of minutiae in the news. Republicans tend to use simpler language, and it’s no surprise that they’ve won the working class’s votes for several elections in a row now. They speak more like ordinary people than Democrats do.

It’s not dumb to not understand every word in the English dictionary. What would be dumb is politicians insisting that we use words that people don’t understand in order to persuade them."

@lettiemacias

Glad to first see this post on Mastodon. I appreciate the framing of ethical AI as a strategy for a more beautiful, just, and verdant world.

I think what you aspire to is timeless. It’s not necessarily a generational clog that’s messed things up; people fought against #industrialism in the 1930s and #mccarthyism in the 1950s. I remember when Gen-Xers were gonna stick it to boomers. And now there’s #GoAOC with old head #bernie.

In any case, I can see ethical #AI being part of a much larger portfolio for the public good.

Do you think we can’t achieve thriving unless we have [ethical] AI?

Must we have some form of AI to ensure stable access to clean air, food, and water, housing, healthcare, transportation, arts, community, time for faith, and climate stability? What could AI tell us that we don’t already know about indigenous ecology, regenerative agriculture, green building, GHG emissions, effective working conditions, or a circular economy?

#Bernie wants us, the working and poor majority, to have what every other industrialized country (like #Canada ) takes for granted and their citizens love, the things #Trump and his accomplices and the #oligarchs (and #establishment #bootlickers ) hate and thinks the #UnitedStates isn't good enough to have, that you just don't deserve.
